"I decided to run for borough council because I love our town. My husband and I chose to stay in Indiana to raise our son. We value the area and enjoy the small, tight knit community. The past year has been difficult in many aspects of our town, including the damage to small business and educational opportunities for kids. My parents are long standing small business owners, along with many of our close friends. I want to invest in a better and stronger future for them and for my son. I would love to see more events in downtown along with more support for community policing. The town has provided a safe and enriching environment for me, and I want to be a part of the same type of reimagined environment looking to the future." - Shavonne Arthurs
